Crown Point Mayor David Uran is resigning from his position effective June 2, 2022. A citywide Democratic Party caucus will select someone to fill the mayoral vacancy on the same day. The mayor's term of office ends December 31, 2023. Lake County Democratic Party chairman Jim Weiser explains the caucus process.

Today: Lake County Democratic Party chairman Jim Weiser is on "Regionally Speaking" to talk about the process of selecting a successor to Crown Point Mayor David Uran, who is leaving public office on June 2nd to become the president and CEO of the South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority. NIPSCO reopened its Gary Business Office, and NiSource senior vice president and chief customer officer Jennifer Montague has the details of the post-COVID reopening. And northwest Indiana financial advisor Greg Hammer sheds some insight on what to look for in a financial advisor, if you don't have one already. A recent survey showed four in ten workers, and two in ten retirees, do not know where to go for financial and retirement advice. Tami Silverman with the Indiana Youth Institute also joins us to praise the Hoosier State's professionals who spend their time and talent in caring for children and young people.
