Regionally Speaking: June 8, 2022

Today on "Regionally Speaking," Tom Maloney talks with Micah Pollak, Associate Professor of Economics at Indiana University Northwest, about the current state of COVID-19 in Northwest Indiana. We're at the third highest positivity rate since the beginning of the pandemic, but deaths are down during this wave. Pollak gives tips on what to do if you test positive, as well as the economic impacts of testing and missing work.

Then, it's a discussion with Lisa Daughtery and John Brant about the future of work in NWI. Work from home, bonuses, raises, and quality of work/life balance all matter to employees. Lisa and John discuss what businesses across the region are doing to keep and bring in top-talent.

As Vice President of Radio Operations, Tom is responsible for overseeing Lakeshore Public Radio. He oversees the radio station’s programming, as well as news. He was instrumental in bringing several different genres of music to Lakeshore Public Radio.
Dee Dotson is the host and producer of our radio show/podcast, Regionally Speaking. Dee is responsible for connecting with the northwest Indiana community to share their stories with the Lakeshore Public Media listening audience.
