Regionally Speaking, October 28, 2022

Today: While the skilled labor shortage is a nationwide concern, the impacts of that shortage are currently hitting the state of Indiana particularly hard. That’s because a large part of Indiana’s economy is powered by sectors like manufacturing and construction but the fact is that many workers from the baby boomer generation are retiring, and new employees are simply not replacing them at the same rates. We speak with master electrician and kids book author Joshua Page about the new book he wrote to empower young imaginations to pursue careers in the trade industry.  But up first, we are just a couple weeks away from the midterm election. We’ll speak with Lake County Board of Elections Director Michelle Fajman who will give us a rundown of what every voter should know before heading to the polls. All of that and more on this edition of Regionally Speaking.
