Regionally Speaking: March 24, 2023

Today: New York Times best-selling author Alexandra Robbins discusses her latest book The Teachers A Year Inside America’s Most Vunerable, Important Profession. Propelled by the education crisis in America the journalist and education expert spent a year at several schools around the country with public school educators who are often overworked, underpaid, feel unsupported and many are contemplating leaving the profession altogether. There is still hope for the profession as many share their passion for the children they teach. But up first, the NWI Food Council will host four film screenings around the Region to bring awareness about food insecurity in Indiana. All of that on this edition of Regionally Speaking.

As co-host and producer of Regionally Speaking, Dee is responsible for connecting with northwest Indiana community newsmakers to share their stories with the Lakeshore Public Radio listening audience. She believes in the power of storytelling to engag, teach and change lives. Prior to working at Lakeshore Public Radio, Dee enjoyed giving her time, talent, and resources to various community organizations. Dee believes in servant leadership. Her favorite quote is "Leadership is service not position." by Tim Fargo.
