When he wasn't on the air or writing, Shep was a popular speaker on the college circuit. He made dozens of campus appearances during his lifetime, and one of his most frequent stops was at New Jersey's Fairleigh Dickinson University. In this recording from an appearance in June 1967, Shep takes questions from the audience and tells the story of "Troop Train Ernie".
