teacher shortage

  • The 2023-2024 school year has already begun for many families across the Hoosier State but there's still a teacher shortage. The July jobs report is out and Fed Chair Jerome Powell is hopeful inflation will be curbed. A Region native who made the decision to head out on a trek from his hometown to Florida…all in an effort to serve as a symbol of hope, faith and perseverance.
  • The Indiana Department of Education notes on its website that as of August 1, 2022 there are more than 2,000 open teaching positions in the state. Lakeshore Public Radio's Dee Dotson spoke with GlenEva Dunham, AFT Indiana president about the state of education for the 2022-2023 school year.
