For this week's edition of "MIDWEST BEAT BLUES" program things begin with a triple play of rock blues from the late RICK DERRINGER with one song from three of Rick's blues releases of the early 1990s and early 2000s.
The show carries on with blues tunes from other artists best known as rockers who also have released a variety of amazing all-blues albums during their careers. Those artists given one song each on the program include -- GARY MOORE, PAT TRAVERS, GEORGE THOROGOOD, JIMI HENDRIX, JOHNNY WINTER, FLEETWOOD MAC, JEFF HEALY, JEFF BECK, with ROBIN TROWER given a double shot from his brand new album "Come And Find Me."
There are some tasty local blues cats featured on this week's program too -- BRIAN GALLAMORE, DON GRIFFIN and THE RESURRECTION BLUES BAND. Plenty of air time given to some remarkable blues women as well with Tom dropping the needle on songs from the likes of MAGGIE BELL, BIG MAMA THORTON, KOKO TAYLOR, DEBORAH BONHAM and debuts a new cut from guitarist CAROLYN WONDERLAND.
