Road work to close portions of S.R. 149, S.R. 14, U.S. 6

map provided by INDOT

Another round of road projects gets underway Monday.

In the Schererville area, U.S. 41 will have daytime lane restrictions and overnight lane closures between north of Main Street and south of Hart Farm Road. That's for resurfacing work taking place through mid-July.

In Porter County, State Road 149 will be closed between County Road 550 North and Robbie Lane for a pipe lining and small structure maintenance and repair project. That closure is expected to continue through early June. The Indiana Department of Transportation's official detour uses U.S. 6 and State Road 130.

Meanwhile, U.S. 6 itself will be closed between Mander Road and County Road 350 East for about 15 days. Crews will be repairing and rehabilitating the bridge over Coffee Creek. INDOT asks drivers to use State Road 49 and State Road 2 as a detour.

In LaPorte, resurfacing work will take place on U.S. 35 between NewPorte Boulevard and State Road 39. INDOT says one lane will be closed at a time, and there will also be intermittent intersection closures through early July.

In Jasper County, culvert replacements will have State Road 14 closed in two locations on either side of U.S. 231. INDOT's official detour follows I-65, State Road 10 and State Road 49.
