Regionally Speaking, March 22, 2022

Lakeshore Public Radio

Today: We revisit our conversation with Food Bank of Northwest Indiana executive director Victor Garcia about the impact that inflation is having on the mission of the Food Bank: fighting food insecurity in the Region. Northwest Indiana financial advisor Greg Hammer talks about how we can better handle our money, while dealing with periods of high inflation. We also speak with Edwin Buswell, the executive director of the Kankakee-Iroquois Regional Planning Commission, which serves rural communities in eight counties including Newton and Jasper, to help improve and strengthen their economies. He talks about several projects and initiatives which are underway or being proposed, including one to assist agribusinesses.
