Regionally Speaking, May 18, 2022

Baby formula is offered for sale at a big-box store on Jan. 13 in Chicago. Baby formula has been in short supply in many stores around the U.S. for several months.

Today: "Regionally Speaking" explores the baby formula supply issue, with conversations with Purdue University human development and family studies professor Kameron Moding, who focuses on infant and child nutrition in her research, and Indiana Public Broadcasting's Darian Benson, who spoke with Jenna Streit, the advancement director with The Milk Bank – a nonprofit breastmilk bank in Indianapolis. A house in West Lafayette designed by Frank Lloyd Wright is being renovated to better preserve the landmark for the future. Samara House curator Linda Eales talks about the historic house and of the renovation work now underway. And Nick Pamperin, the executive director of the U.S. Veterans Administration's Veterans Readiness and Employment program, talks about the way that it helps veterans transitioning from active duty and veterans with life-changing disabilities can prepare for careers out of the military.
