Community activist and Indiana University Northwest labor studies Professor Emeritus Ruth Needleman was in the “Regionally Speaking” studio to talk about her interest in her community and its people.
Needleman says the journey began with a rich experience in education and social service, leading to Indiana University Northwest in Gary, and then — after retirement from the faculty — an almost full-time devotion to issues like East Chicago’s lead contamination and the impact on residents and in the city of Gary’s economic development projects. Here’s the conversation, aired December 15th.
