RALPH KINSEY TURNS PERCUSSION INTO PAINTINGS AND HOSTS HIS FIRST PUBLIC EXHIBIT

This Edition of “MIDWEST BEAT with TOM LOUNGES” originally aired on May 31, 2016

IN-STUDIO GUEST:  Percussionist/Painter RALPH KINSEY with  Jack Adams

The guest for this installment of “MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges” is Gary, Indiana blues music great RALPH KINSEY, who has evolved his artistic scope to include painting.   Kinsey’s first public art exhibit for his unique “percussion paintings” is June 1-30 at the Griffith-Calumet Twp Branch of the Lake County Public Library.  The exhibit is free to view during the library’s regular business hours.

Mr. Kinsey and his marketing partner JACK ADAMS of Safari Marketing talk about the exhibit and a special public reception held on Friday, June 10 (6-9pM Central) at the library branch in his honor that includes — a meet ‘n’ greet and a lecture by Kinsey, a musical performance by The Kinsey Report, food, and more.   There is a charge to attend the reception that benefits the Lake County Public Library Foundation.

This program traces Kinsey’s musical roots from playing with his bluesman father Big Daddy Kinsey and brothers Kenneth and Donald Kinsey, to where he is today in life and art.    Selections of music are also featured from various eras of his musical history.    To reserve a seat or get more information on the exhibit: (219) 769-3541 (ext. 315) and talk to Jennifer.
