Mr. Blue Suede Shoes: Zackary Stevenson as "Carl Perkins" in TATC's "Million Dollar Quartet"

This edition of "MIDWEST BEAT with Tom Lounges" originally aired on February, 22, 2019 on 89.1FM-Lakeshore Public Radio.  It enjoyed four encore broadcasts over the next two weeks.

Actor/Musician ZACKARY STEVENSON (who protrays Carl Perkins in "Million Dollar Quartet")

                "MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET" --the hit musical comes to Theatre at the Center in Munster for a run that lasts through March 31st.  The popular musical dramatizes an actual recording session on December 4, 1956 at the SUN RECORDS recording studio in Memphis, Tennessee when JOHNNY CASH, JERRY LEE LEWIS, CARL PERKINS and ELVIS PRESLEY assembled for an impromptu jam session.  

                The Theatre at the Center presentation of  MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET  stars ZACH SORROW as Elvis Presley, MICHAEL KUROWSKI as Jerry Lee Lewis, TOMMY MALOUF as Johnny Cash, ZACHARY STEVENSON as Carl Perkins, SEAN FORTUNATO as record producer Sam Phillips and AERIEL WILLIAMS as singer Dyanne

ZACKARY STEVENSON plays "Carl Perkins" in the TATC presentation of "MILLION DOLLAR QUARETET".

A very special presentation of the musical will be tied to a nostalgic dinner event takes place on Thursday, March 7 called -- "MILLION DOLLAR MANIA " -- which serves as a fundraiser for the theatre and includes a plated dinner, prepared by Chef Joe Trama

Before the curtain goes up on that night's stage play at 7:30 pm, Lakeshore Public Radio’s very own TOM LOUNGES will serve as the gala's celebrity Emcee, and will spin hits of the 1950s, do a "red carpet" style interview with MDQ cast members, and test the memories of guests with '50s-era trivia.  More: www.TheatreAtTheCenter.com.
