The Rising Phoenix Gallery invites you to experience Glass, a captivating exhibit celebrating the artistry and versatility of glass. This open-call exhibition explores the endless possibilities of glass as a medium and its inspiration across all forms of art. From fused and blown glass to mosaics, lampworking, cold working, and beyond, Glass showcases the creativity and craftsmanship of artists working in this extraordinary medium.
Artists from all disciplines are encouraged to submit their work. Whether your piece is made of glass or inspired by its beauty, this exhibit welcomes a wide range of interpretations and artistic styles. Heritage Quilters of Crown Point will host their 18th Biennial Quilt Show and Gift Shop, “Fall In Love With Quilting”, Saturday, October 4th, and Sunday, October 5th, in the 4-H building of the Lake County Fairgrounds, 889 S. Court Street, Crown Point, IN 46307. Hours are 10 am-5 p.m. Saturday, and 10 am-4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5, children under 12 are free.Guild members will exhibit one hundred twenty-five quilts, with an additional unique exhibit by Featured Quilter, Helen Tokoly of St. John, IN, and a display of Comfort Quilt Donations. Also, a presentation of quilts, hosted by Guild members discussing their own bodies of work, is scheduled each day. Saturday, a stunning contemporary bed turning by Jill Ball will happen at 10:30 am. On Sunday, Kay Opilka will thrill with her Halloween themed collection of quilts.Show attendees can participate in raffles, a silent auction and gift-shop boutique that support the educational and philanthropic programs of the not-for-profit run Guild. The Guild gives a Gift Bag to the first 500 guests and awards Door Prizes as well.Quilting and related vendors will be on site offering supplies and tools to sewists and others.
