American pop music icon of the 1950s -- PAT BOONE -- is also an author, actor, songwriter, humanitarian and philanthropist. Now in his seventh decade in the entertainment business, Boone is still recording and still dedicated to making the world a better place.
Although he turns 91-years-old on June 1, Boone still has a LOT to say and is still quite a wonderful and humorous interview guest. Find out first hand as he chats with show host Tom Lounges about his generation-spanning career from the 1950s, to his brand new globally charting hit single.
This program will contain two versions of Boone's powerful and moving new song -- "ONE: Voices For Tanzania" -- performed by a collective of country and gospel music stars including Vince Gill, Billy Dean, Alabama, Pam Tillis and others. The song is Boone's musical project to raise funds and to bring awareness of the clean water crisis in Tanzania.
Tom and Pat not only discuss this powerful new project, but also chat about Pat's early career and the important role Boone played during the 1950s and 1960s in helping to break down racial barriers in music. Plenty of great tunes from throughout Pat's career is also featured in this program.
